Smells Like Beige.

After an initial run in the PBS profile, it’s time for another round of Classic. This time in the Cherry profile, featuring KAP legends, and with a new additional dark theme.

KAP MV Classic is a collaboration between Kapowaz and MVKB. We took the NorDeUK sublegends and wondered “How can we add even more?”. That’s when Keyreative (who manufactures these keycaps) came up with the brilliant if not slightly unhinged idea to add support for French layouts as double-shot side-legends.

Let’s go over why this whole thing is kind of wild:

  1. Classic uses multi-color sublegends. The KAP profile is double-shot. Double-shot historically only supports 2 colors (the legend in the first shot, the outside cap in the second shot). Now, Keyreative came up with a brilliant way to cheat here. After the first shot where the legends of the keycap are produced, dye sublimation is being applied to it, allowing us to use as many colors we want for the legends. A second shot of plastic is applied after this and you end up with multi-colored, double-shot keycaps of superb quality.
  2. About those side-legends: Usually, these are added with UV-printing or dye-sublimation. But for KAP MV CLASSIC, they’re actually double-shot, a historical first.

The renders on this page are matched as closely as possible to the final product.
